In our Lodges, we refer to petitioners as “Mister” until they have taken their first Illuminati Oath as an Entered Apprentice. Upon completing this step, they are addressed as “Brother.” This practice is likely consistent across many other Grand Lodge jurisdictions, as we do not bestow this title lightly.
